Here are some things to keep in mind:

• Insurance companies deny claims (sometimes incorrectly) hoping that you won’t appeal
• You have the right to appeal a claim that has been denied, but the process can be complicated, especially when you may be under added stress due to injuries or illness
• The sooner your insurance company is contacted regarding denials or errors the better
